Meeting Thursdays online 8:30am one hour and ten minutes
This spring we will start in the second half of Medieval Literature made interesting for middle schoolers, from Dark Age Europe to the dawn of the Age of Discovery! In this companion course to Take A Stand: Medieval Civilizations, students learn history through the eyes of figures, real and imaginary, as they show us the many angles that make up our world’s story. Join us as we read and discuss historical fiction and non-fiction and gain new perspectives, discuss literary elements and theory, and develop critical thinking and discussion skills. Each student can expect to take part in in-class and online discussions, possible presentations, and a final. For those students that are taking both Adventures in Medieval Literature and Take A Stand: Medieval Civilizations, there will also be options for joint final projects, such as papers or presentations, that will combine the research and reading done for both classes.
